AMP: Music Goes Live

We have so much to tell you about AMP:Music, our new project for young music makers in Moray which launched in September.

First our online Open Training programme got underway last Wednesday with a brilliant live-streamed session hosted by our AMP:Music trainee Lewis Lowe.

Lewis was joined by London-based DJ and producer Rachael Williams aka Ambient Babestation Meltdown to discuss her creative output, crafting complicated mixes from home and implementing sampling as part of her creative practice.

If you missed the live stream – no problem. Watch it back here.

Be sure to tune in for the next one (via Facebook and YouTube) at 7pm this Wednesday when Lewis and producer/DJ Ian DPM will cover releasing music on the UK scene.

Essential listening for anyone in Moray aged 16-25 who wants to make it in the music biz – and completely free to access.

We also launched our free Intro to Music Making #1 programme for 13-16 year olds last month. These in-person sessions at Aberlour Youth Point are running throughout Nov and December. Limited places though – sign up here.

And we have a couple of places left for our Artist Mentoring programme for 16-25 year olds – one-to-one mentoring with established musicians to help kick start their career. More info here.

A champion of arts and culture has been awarded an MBE in recognition of her service to Moray. Nearly 14 years after founding producer of cultural events and activities, Findhorn Bay Arts, Kresanna Aigner is thrilled to be included in the New Year’s Honours List. She said: “I am deeply honoured. It reflects not just my own work, but the dedication, creativity and belief of the artists, colleagues, volunteers, partners and communities who have shaped Findhorn Bay Arts. “This recognition belongs to everyone who believes that high-quality culture matters, that rural places deserve ambitious creative opportunities, and that the arts can connect people, strengthen communities, and open up possibilities.
Thanks to the support of Findhorn Bay Arts, I (Paige Harvey, Marketing and Community Lead at Findhorn Bay Arts) had the fantastic opportunity to attend this year’s (2025) Arts Marketing Association (AMA) Conference in Edinburgh at the International Conference Centre
