Meet our AMP: Music Trainee

We are very pleased to introduce our AMP:Music trainee, Lewis Lowe.

Since March 2021, Lewis has been working closely with project lead Steve Gasgarth to coordinate our new Youth Music Initiative-funded programme.

Lewis is an up-and-coming DJ, Record Label co-owner and events organiser, who has joined us to coordinate AMP: Music to gain training and experience in administration, event management, marketing, project work and live events.

The trainee post will last until April 2022 to support the delivery of AMP:Music. During this time, Lewis will be given practical hands-on experience through regular facilitated sessions and supported to develop his ideas for the project as a whole.

Lewis said, “I am really grateful and excited to have been asked to be part of the programme.

“For a long time, I have felt I could utilise my organisational and creative skills in a better way and this training as part of the programme is really helping me to hone these skills and apply them in a more meaningful way.

“So far I have been working on curating the Open Training sessions that we will be running throughout the rest of 2021 and into 2022. It’s been a great opportunity to reach out to people who inspire me and work with them.

“I am really looking forward to taking everything I’m learning and apply it to more community-based work and my own creative practice.”

Our AMP: Music programme has been carefully designed to help to equip young people with the creative skills, knowledge and experience to be able to develop their career and build connections within the industry.

We’ll be making another exciting announcement about our AMP: Music project early next week – watch this space.
