On the 24 September 2014 doors were opened to the 1st Findhorn Bay Arts Festival. Over the course of five days over 12,000 spectators were welcomed to over 65 free and ticketed events held all around the Findhorn Bay area of Moray.
The Festival was a huge success with many events selling out or exceeding expected ticket sales. Highlights included: ‘Macbeth the Remix’, a spectacular 21st Century rework of Shakespeare’s classic tale; music performances by Eddi Reader, Shooglenifty and the Moray Music Makers; Culture Day, the carnivalesque one-day cultural extravaganza; a Late Night Art gallery tour; plus much, much more.
Over 300 local volunteers helped out at various events, including over 120 volunteers who were directly involved in ‘Macbeth the Remix’ at Brodie Castle.
Local schools also got involved, with 97 secondary school and 420 primary school pupils attending events.
The biennial Findhorn Bay Festival will be back over the last long weekend in September 2016. Find out more here.
