{"id":5745,"date":"2023-12-21T13:37:59","date_gmt":"2023-12-21T13:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/findhornbayarts.com\/?p=5745"},"modified":"2023-12-21T13:38:00","modified_gmt":"2023-12-21T13:38:00","slug":"reflections-on-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/findhornbayarts.com\/news\/reflections-on-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Reflections on 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As 2023 comes to a close, we would like to pause and reflect on some of our highlights from the last year, which included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/findhornbayarts.com\/projects\/residencies-commissions\/combine-to-create\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Combine to Create<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; a collaborative programme of creative activities in Moray supported by Creative Scotland through the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.creativescotland.com\/funding\/archive\/culture-collective\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0Culture Collective Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Building on phase, phase two embedded and sustained new ways of working within and between creative practitioners and communities of identity and place through residencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme supported:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>employment of 14 creative practitioners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>44 artist\/creative practitioner gatherings, meet-ups and events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>delivery of 288 workshops\/community engagement events across Moray, including Lossiemouth, Buckie, Elgin, Forres and Findhorn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>engagement with 1412 participants of all ages<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>participation in 50 local, regional and national third sector, cultural and education networking events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>engagement with 46 community partners, education and third sector partners&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Findhorn Bay Arts provided marketing, communications and event management support for the Moray programme of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rememberingtogether.scot\/moray\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Remembering Together<\/a>, produced and created by artists Graeme Roger and Caroline Inckle with the Moray community to provide a space for collective reflection around the Covid-19 pandemic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspired by<a href=\"https:\/\/sup.org.uk\/projects\/connecting-threads-tweed-river-culture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;Destination Tweed\u2019s \u2018Connecting Threads\u2019<\/a>&nbsp;project and building upon previous collaborations to bring<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SkB92OvB3ws\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;Mark Zygadlo\u2019s \u2018WaterOrgan\u2019<\/a>&nbsp;and Scotland the Big Picture\u2019s \u2018Riverwoods\u2019 film to the Findhorn Bay Festival, the Findhorn, Nairn and Lossie Rivers Trust commissioned Findhorn Bay Arts to deliver a strand of cultural and creative engagement activities for the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/findhornwatershed.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Findhorn Watershed Initiative<\/a>, that saw:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>5 creative engagement and consultation events delivered<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>engagement from 200+ people of all ages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We look forward to 2024 to continuing to deliver transformative, experimental and regeneration projects that resonate locally and inspire nationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From January to March, keep an eye on our socials to keep you informed about a series of community engagement events planned as part of the Findhorn Watershed Initiative for the lower catchment of the River Findhorn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Date for your Diaries<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Running from Friday 20th &#8211;
