International Exchange between Moray and Brittany

Featuring musicians Danielle Price and Martin Lee Thomson (aka Dopey Monkey) and musicians Jean-Luc Thomas and Gab Fruare.

An international collaboration between musicians Danielle Price and Martin Lee Thomson aka Dopey Monkey – who are both originally from Moray – and musicians Jean-Luc Thomas and Gab Fruare from Brittany, France.

This international exchange sees the musicians sharing tunes from their respective repertoires and cultural traditions, and collaborating on new pieces in an exchange of tunes, stories and the cultures they come from through a residency embedded in each others respective rural communities in the summer of 2024.

The residencies will culminate with performances as part of the 5th Findhorn Bay Festival (20-29 Sept 2024).

FBA are thrilled to be working with Hirundo Rustica (Brittany, France) to facilitate our first international exchange supporting artists to connect with each other and their respective communities to share the music, stories and traditions they are influenced by.

The artists will kick start their exchange with a concert at this year’s Celtic Connections Festival on the 3rd of February performing their respective repertoires.
