Combine to Create comes to Buckie Community Hub

The next phase of Jo Hodges and Robbie Coleman’s Combine to Create residency will take place in the ‘secret’ wellbeing garden at Buckie Community Hub.

Following on from their residency in Buckie during the 4th Findhorn Bay Festival, this summer Jo and Robbie will be inviting local residents to participate in nature-inspired creative workshops in the Hub garden.

The workshops will be aimed at people of all ages, inspiring them to get creative in the open air while using nature-inspired processes.

From Monday 7th to Wednesday 16th August over twenty-five short workshops will take place, with planned workshops including cyanotype printing, natural weaving and bee hotel making.

Each workshop is free to attend and suitable for all ages, but people should register in advance by texting or WhatsApp Jo Hodges on 07905 866801.

There will also be a number of drop-in workshops for where no registration is required.

The free workshops are part of the Combine to Create programme run by Findhorn Bay Arts. Combine to Create is a new and collaborative programme of creative activities in Moray supported by Creative Scotland through the Culture Collective Fund.

Jo Hodges and Robbie Coleman said, “We’re delighted to be working in collaboration with the fantastic volunteers at The Hub who are developing their garden as a wellbeing space that’s open to all. We’ve developed a programme of nature inspired creative activities over the summer and we look forward to working with both families and adults during our time in the garden.”

Gordon McDonald, Chair of Buckie Community Hub, said: “We were considering opening up a wellbeing garden at the rear of The Hub when we were approached by Jo and Robbie about doing exactly that and we have worked together on the concept. We are delighted with the outcome and look forward to reaping the benefits for the community.”
