Creative Producer joins Festival team

A creative producer with almost two decades experience in delivering events in the UK and Australia, including for the BBC and Brisbane Festival, has been appointed as Production and Operations Manager for the 4th Findhorn Bay Festival (Fri 23 Sept – Sun 2 Oct 2022).

Alison Burnley is a creative producer with a focus on supporting communities and emerging artists to share their stories through theatre, ceremony and song. Whether reimagining folk tales and feasting on medieval bread; or contemplating what we’re thankful for whilst lighting floating bonfires, she creates experiential works that provoke the mind and gives voice to communities.

Alison has worked in numerous producing roles throughout her eighteen-year career, including co-founding a not-for-profit community arts organisation in Merseyside, freelancing with the BBC as area manager/producer delivering participatory events for young people and as Community Engagement Manager at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.

Alison has returned to live permanently in Scotland after eight years in Australia, where she produced works for major institutions such as BrisAsia, Brisbane Festival, State Library of Queensland and Woodfordia Inc.

Alison joins us on a part time basis and will be working closely with Festival Director Kresanna Aigner to deliver this year’s programme. Find out more about Alison’s career and creative practice on her website.

A champion of arts and culture has been awarded an MBE in recognition of her service to Moray. Nearly 14 years after founding producer of cultural events and activities, Findhorn Bay Arts, Kresanna Aigner is thrilled to be included in the New Year’s Honours List. She said: “I am deeply honoured. It reflects not just my own work, but the dedication, creativity and belief of the artists, colleagues, volunteers, partners and communities who have shaped Findhorn Bay Arts. “This recognition belongs to everyone who believes that high-quality culture matters, that rural places deserve ambitious creative opportunities, and that the arts can connect people, strengthen communities, and open up possibilities.
